'What are your thoughts about this plank exercise? Is this the hardest plank ever? It goes beyond the abs themselves.  Planks like this (under load) require more focus and a stronger response from the muscles of the core like the transverse abdominis, erectors spinae, internal and external obliques, diaphragm, pelvic floor muscles, the rectus abdominis and even your glutes and quads which are firing in this particular exercise.  Continue to find ways like this to challenge those core muscles. Bodyweight is great but eventually you want to progress to more difficult exercises that force your muscles to work harder.
