Try them out. See what happens. *********************** #4 – Focus on the Learning Everyone makes mistakes. It’s inevitable. But if you spend a lot of time dwelling on your mistakes, you start to build a pretty negative mental image of yourself. It can quickly lead to feelings of shame. But if it’s inevitable that you’ll make mistakes, how do you escape those feelings of shame? Focus on the learning. It’s true, everyone does make mistakes, but how you think about those mistakes affects how you feel about them – and how you feel about yourself. We need to stop thinking about mistake making in terms of failing. Because actually, they’re brilliant opportunities to learn something new about yourself. And without learning, we’re destined to repeat the same mistakes. So once we recognise mistake-making is a really important part of learning, we start to make meaningful progress. We feel less ashamed of our mistakes. And this is where growth happens.
