'Exercise should be fun! Our bodies were made to move, and when you\'re active, you\'ll feel the benefits from your toes to your brain.  I love seeing people move their bodies, whether it\'s having a dance party with family, working in the yard, or enjoying a nature trail. I love it because when I see people move, I know they\'re going to feel their best, not just now but hopefully for years to come.  The secret is finding the activity that makes you light up. Not a runner? Don\'t like the gym? That\'s not a problem. Try swimming, hiking, or biking instead. Or maybe something like dancing is more your style.  The important thing is to move every day. I recommend that my clients get in some sort of cardio at least 6 days a week. The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes (2.5 hours) of moderate cardio activity per week. If you\'re working out 6 days, that translates to only about 25 minutes at a time!  A heart rate monitor (or just a smart watch) is really helpful for making sure you\'re challenging yourself enough. Moderate aerobic activity should be in the range of 50 to 70% of your maximum heart rate.  If you don\'t have a heart rate monitor, think about how you feel. Moderate activity should make your heart pump and your body sweat, but you should still be able to carry on a conversation, and you shouldn\'t feel breathless.  In addition to 150 minutes of moderate cardio a week, I recommend throwing in a couple sessions of more intense cardio (high intensity interval training or HIIT is a great option). I also recommend 2 to 3 strength training sessions and lots of stretching (ideally, stretch daily and use mysofasical release).  This will give you a well-rounded fitness program that will keep you healthy and happy well into old age. As always, I\'m here for guidance! Drop me a question in the comments below.
